Traffic, Nursery Rhymes, Car games

My new life now also consists of ‘the school run’ and I now appreciate the lengths parents go to, to take their children to school.

When you are on the school run the amount of time it takes to get from A to B can be frustrating.¬† Also, if you have lots to do, the drive there, the drive back and waiting for them when you pick them up, can be….painful.

Here are a few things to help you with that ‘lost’ time.

  1. While the children are in the car, keep them entertained. Nursery rhymes, car games, toys are things we use every morning.
  2. The drive back, where time probably feels even more lost… use it to your advantage. Enjoy the silence, catch up on current affairs, blast your favourite songs, listen to pod casts or audio books. Time goes faster and you feel like you are being productive.
  3. While waiting to collect them, make menus for the week ahead, catch up on emails and texts, all admin work can be done.

Whatever you are doing… the drive can still be long and boring, especially when it is full of traffic.

As Dory says, “just keep swimming”
